Top Ten Reasons The American Economy CAN Recover … If We Let It

7 Current Material Wealth in America

Hoover DamNot only is America strong in natural resources, but the infrastructure and current material wealth in America is nearly without parallel. The combination of nuclear, hydroelectric, coal, natural gas/petroleum power plants produces more electrical power than any other country on Earth. Broadband internet access is available to more people in the United States than in any other country; there are over 250,000 secure servers and 208 million Internet users, with each household spending an average of $14.95 a month for Internet access. Clean water is available to 100% of Americans, and we consistently rank at or near the top of health services available and utilized.

Furthermore, the amount of material possessions in America is staggering – we maintain the fourth-largest reserves (including gold, current US$) in the world. We rank 1st in value-added manufacturing, 1st in airports, 1st in motor vehicles (765 motor vehicles per 100 people), 1st in paved and total roadways and highways, 1st in gas pipelines (length), 1st in rail lines (length) – we even have the most roller coasters (654). We have the most radios, the second most televisions, and the second most mobile phone subscribers in the world.

This material wealth currently possessed by America cannot be lightly cast aside, and if we allow it, can be a great impetus to our recovery and maintenance of our financial stability in the future.

Nick great read, as you know the party system the republicans have been against goverment control, the democrats have been for more government regulation. Many years ago I read and article that said the third world power would be international corporations. With out government control there is no group that stop such unlimited power, we are left at the mercy of there honesty. I have seen what the last eight years of ruthless abuse they have infilicted upon the world, they have openly stated the world can no longer afford a middle class the carbon footprint is to big. we have seen the biggest drain of wealth from middle class to the wealthy in the history of our country. we seen corporations merge to the point we cannot allow them to fail. Can we recover from this re pression we can and we will because we are america. STAPP

Yes, and as time goes on, the economy is moving further and further in the positive direction. Though the influence of corporations in politics hasn’t been necessarily ALL bad — every group DOES need representation — there has been a loss of balance. Most citizens feel that the government is too big to represent their own interests. This is something that we’re working here at PolitVote to correct.
