PolitiVote Launches Federal Legislation

PolitiVote.com - Vote and Be HeardAfter a great deal of time and effort, our most requested feature is finally here. At long last, we are proud to bring to you over 6,000 pieces of current Federal legislation — legislation being sponsored by the likes of Senators Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Orrin Hatch, and many other large players in the political arena, and legislation that is currently being voted on, debated, and discussed by your representatives in Washington, D.C. My friends, these bills are HUGE, and they affect you every day. My personal favorite is this one:

http://politivote.com/federal/view/1973

A bill to increase the public debt from $12.104 trillion to $13.29 trillion.

Yes, you heard me. Trillion. Based on the current population in America according to the U.S. census site (307,150,489), this would be the approximation of taking $3,861 in additional money from every single person in America living today – not counting interest on the debt incurred.

What was your tax return again? :)

We invite you to make a difference by voting, commenting, and describing these bills to affect REAL change with your representatives. Also, we’d like to invite you try a new feature — we have a new, updated sharing plugin we’ve added to every single bill in our database. We invite you to start spreading the word about bills that mean something to you — bills that you think need to pass or that need to die. You’d be amazed at the difference a single email can make; passed around, your single action could sway a million votes. You can also share the bills through Facebook, Digg, and many other social networking sites as well.

As always my friends, thanks SO much for your help. I believe in this project more than anything else I’ve done up to this point in my life — it really has the potential to bring free democracy to everyone, everywhere, but that idea is only possible and has only been possible through your continued support. We invite you to celebrate with us this milestone in our alpha stage by using the site with renewed vigor, and hopefully when this week is out, we should have debugged things to the point we can move from our alpha stage to a beta.

Thank you so much for your support, and I look forward to seeing you on the site.

Sincerely,

Nick Jessen
